Col du Galibier

A short drive from 2 world class ski resorts...our accommodation in Bourg D’Oisans is a great value alternative to staying in the ski stations themselves.  Not only do you get a modern ensuite bedroom + shared living are which is likely much larger than the equivalent in the resorts (bedrooms 12 - 17sqm not including ensuite, and 70 sqm living area), it’s available for probably less than half the price!

Whilst you do have to travel to the resorts each day, Alpe D’Huez is only a 20 - 25 minute drive up the mountain (Bourg D’Oisans is literally at the foot of Alpe D’Huez) or a 15 - 20 minute drive to the cable car in Venosc which connects to Les Deux Alpes. An alternative for the more serious skier is the smaller La Grave / La Meije ski area - famed for its off-piste snow!  (If you need any advice on possible driving conditions or equipment you’ll need don’t hesitate to contact us).

Alpe D’Huez is a great resort, with something to offer for beginners up to advanced skiers, with it’s wide range of slopes (250 kilometres worth!).  It often gets great sun (around 300 days of sunshine a year), even when it’s not so good down in the valley! (see the picture below left).  We can also offer our guests a 20% discount on the daily ski pass (subject to conditions).

Les Deux Alpes is also a massive resort with 93 slopes, perhaps catering more for the average to advanced skier / snowboarder.  The cable car connection from Venosc means that you can stay in Bourg D’Oisans and have access to both resorts, with well over 200 slopes to choose from.

If you are thinking of a short skiing break (i.e. you don’t want to be tied into a Saturday - Saturday stay, along with all the traffic!), or just want to stay in more spacious accommodation without breaking the bank, give us a try!
